WHAT IS IT?
Mad Money is like a gift card or a pre-paid services account managed by Mad River Mountain. It works similar to a bank debit card except that cash cannot be withdrawn. You simply put money in your account and then present the card to any of the selected sales stations throughout the Resort. We have found that these types of cards are popular with students and families alike. In short, Mad Money is a service provided by Mad River to make your life easier.
Mad Money can be purchased in any amount by calling the Administration Office. On-line purchases must be made in $25 incriments up to $100.

1. They are FREE! There are no set up costs or fees to use Mad Money - You put $100 in and you get $100 to spend.
2. You simply cannot beat the CONVENIENCE. At Mad River your Mad Money dollars can be used all over the place. Imagine not having to dig for change, write checks, or worry about keeping track of your spending (you can get an account statement whenever you want one from our office). With Mad Money that's all in the past!
3. Mad Money is PEACE OF MIND. You don't have to worry about carrying around cash all the time. If you lose your card, just report it to us and we'll deactivate it. It's also a numbered debit card. This increases your security.
4. There is NO RISK. If you do not use all the money in your account this season, it will extend one season. You can open an account and try it for as little as $25! What ever amount of money you place on your Mad Money Card is there when you or your family needs it. Plus, Mad Money dollars are pre-paid, so you don't have to worry about running up large bills that you can't pay. One call or email is all it takes to add more.
5. Made for YOU. Mad Money is faster and more convenient than cash or credit cards. Since it can be used for both small and large purchases - a sandwich, gloves, a beverage or candy bar - they are designed for the Resort visit. Finally, Mad Money Dollars are administered by Mad River and we really do try to design the system to meet your needs.
6. A Mad Money Gift Card offers an ideal solution to gift-giving for any special occasion. It can be personalized with the name of the recipient. With Mad Money, the recipient can buy exactly what he or she wants. And you avoid the hassle of searching for a gift, wrapping it and having it shipped.

8. NO PRESET SPENDING LIMITS. Unless you ask for it. The available balance on your activated card is as high as any amount you wish to load or transfer onto your card. Daily limits can be set for parents looking for more control of their kids spending. Adding money to your Mad Money Card is as easy as billing your credit card.

   1. Come to the Administrative Office with cash, check, or a credit card.
   2. Call us at 937-599-1015 with a credit card.
   3. FAX us the Mad Money Card form to 937-599-4225.
   4. Mail us a check or your credit card information using the Mad Money Card Form.

IMPORTANT RULES & RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Lost, stolen or misplaced cards must be reported immediately to the Administrative Office at 937-599-1015. If you don't have your card, someone else might. Don't take a chance on losing your Mad Money Card Dollars.
2. The Cardholder may be responsible for unauthorized use of the ID card.
3. Mad Money Dollars placed on Membership Cards with pictures are non-transferable. Only the person pictured on the Card will be allowed to spend Mad Money Dollars from that account. The Cardholder may be required to sign a receipt for goods received. Gift cards without pictures or an assigned name are transferable.
4. The minimum contribution to your Mad Money Card Dollars account is $25.
5. Cash cannot be withdrawn from the Mad Money Card account. Balances left in the account will carry over from this season to next season.
6. The Cardholder is responsible for maintaining a valid Mad Money Card in proper working condition. The Mad Money Card is the access device for the Member's Account. The card must be presented at the time of purchase and shall be the only means of accessing the participants account. The Mad Money Card is available from the Administrative Office at Mad River Mountain.
7. Gift Cards issued without a named account have no tracking method. They are considered the same as cash if lost or stolen.

The Mad Money Card is an in-house, private label concept. It places a debit account on your Membership ID Card or on an unnamed gift card. The account is activated once funds have been deposited with Mad River Mountain. The Mad Money Card eliminates the need to carry cash, checks, or credit cards and offers value.

FREQUENT QUESTIONS

Does the Mad Money/Gift Card have an expiration date?
No. A handling fee will be charged after 2 season's of non-use except where prohibited by law.

I ordered my Mad Money/Gift Card on the Internet but I haven't received it yet. What do I do?
You should contact us by either email or by phone during our regular business hours 800-231-SNOW. We can track when the card was purchased and if it was mailed, kept in will call, etc.

I lost my Mad Money/Gift Card. What do I do?
As long as it was a named card, we can deactivate it immediately upon your request. With an un-named or numbered card, it is basically the same as cash. Without the card or your contact info it is impossible for us to trace. Traceable cards can be re-printed with the remaining balance for a reprint fee.

I forgot my Mad Money/Gift Card. What do I do?
Sorry, you must have your Gift Card with you to use it.

My card is damaged. What do I do?
We would be happy to print you a replacement. There is a reprint fee to do this. Usually about $5.

Someone gave me a Gift Card that is valid for the purchase of a particular product. Can I use the card to purchase a different product?
Yes if it is real value. If the value was given as a donation, there are no exchanges. You would have to take that product.

Can I use my Mad Money/Gift Card to purchase an item that costs less than the value on the Mad Money/ Gift Card, can I apply the balance towards another purchase?
Yes. The balance will remain on your Mad Money/Gift Card and can be used at another time.

If I purchase multiple Mad Money/Gift Cards, can I have the cards shipped to different recipients?
Yes. Just let us know exactly who gets what.

Is the Mad Money/Gift Card transferable?
It depends on what you want. If you have a pictured pass with Mad Money on it, this is considered non-transferable. A regular Mad Money Gift card without a picture is considered transferable.

Can I purchase a Gift Card and have it sent to someone other than myself?
Yes. Just note that on our online order form. It allows you to purchase multiple gift cards and have them sent to different recipients.

How do I know what my remaining balance is?
Email us, call us at 800-231-SNOW, or visit our Administrative Office. Also each time you use your Mad Money/Gift Card you will be notified of your remaining balance.

Can I return a Mad Money/Gift Card that I purchased or received as a gift?
There are no refunds. You can however use the value on your card to purchase any product or service at Mad River.

Can I reuse my Mad Money/Gift Card?
Of course! Mad Money/Gift Cards are reusable. At any time, you can reload your Card with additional cash value.

How do I reload my Mad Money/Gift Card?
To reload your Card, just visit our website sales section, or call 1-800-231-SNOW, or visit our Administrative Office at Mad River Mountain. You will need a credit card to reload your Card online or via phone.

How does Mad River protect my privacy after I register my Mad Money Card?
Under the skiMadRiver.com privacy statement, we will not give your name to other companies without your permission.

Can I order multiple Mad Money/Gift Cards for employees, clients or customers?
Of course! The Mad Money/Gift Card Program is an easy way to take care of a lot of people. Just call 1-800-231-SNOW or go to Mad Money for more information.

Can I purchase Mad Money/Gift Cards with other items from your Web site?
Absolutely! Cards can be added to your shopping cart online, just like any other item.
