Learning Center Options

At Mad River Mountain, teaching kids is our specialty. Our Children's Programs are designed with individual development in mind, factoring in age, ability, and maturity.

Join us this winter in Adventure Place and introduce your child to a lifetime of family fun. Because when your kids are happy, you are too! Mad River Mountain's exclusive ski and boarding programs focus on Safety, Fun and Learning.

Whether your child is just learning or already perfectly comfortable on the mountain, you can rest assured they will be having as much fun as you are!

We offer two programs in Adventure Place: Explorers & Sno-Blasters. Each program is tailored to a different age group or discipline. While age is one factor in grouping children, individual ability and maturity are also considered. Whatever program you choose, be assured that our goals are to teach your child the joys of skiing or riding and the fun and excitement of our outdoor winter environment.

Finding the Right Place for Your Child
Although some children may be able to ski in a wedge on intermediate or advanced terrain, we recommend that all children be placed according to their skill level, not what slopes they ski or ride down. Don't hesitate to ask for assistance. We're here to help make you and your child happy. Refer to our Ability Guide to find your child's ability level.

Programs are offered on weekends and holidays at 10:30 am or 1:30pm. Please note that children under the age of 4, must take private lessons. Those interested in the Adventure Place Program can do walk up registration at the ticket windows. Please register a minimum of 1 hour prior to the program start time.

Participants in the Adventure Place Programs must obtain their rental equipment at the Rental Shop. All participants must be at the Adventure Place with their equipment prior to the program start time. Not sure what your child might need? Winter 2009/10 Adventure Place Rates

Explorers

This program is designed for beginners or those who have skied a limited number of times. The program includes a hot chocolate break and a special race bib.
Times: 10:30 am & 1:30 pm

Sno-Blasters

This program is designed for kids who are able to ride a chairlift and are starting to master skiing and turning. The program may include moguls, racing, and jumping depending on ability levels.
