Four Parks perfect for All Abilities

Home to the #1 Park in the Midwest!

Mad River Mountain is pleased to be reckognized as the #1 Park destination in the Midwest by OntheSnow.com for the third consecutive year!  Capital Park is our flagship park here in Central Ohio and usually is home to over 20 different features from jumps, to jibs, to rails.  While Capital Park is widely known across the Midwest our other parks round out our selection.

MOMENTUM - perfect for the newbies and the little guys

Momentum, located to the far left of our resort if you are looking up from the parking lot, is perfect for the "newbie."  This year Momentum will only have snow features like rollers, berms, and small 10' jumps that will get those just getting off the ground acclimated to what it feels like to be off the ground on skis or a board.

THE LOUIE VITO LEARNING PARK - our newest park dedicated to education, learning, and fun.

Our newest park - the Louie Vito Learning Park or L.V.L.P for short - is located on the complete opposite side of our resort from Momentum underneath the Flight Deck Lift.  This area is perfect for those looking to improve their skills on small features that will range in sizes from 6' - 12' in length and 15' jumps.  This area will also be the location for the Mighty Midwest Tour in January.

LOUIE VITO IS CURRENTLY UNDER CONSTRUCTION TODAY

Lower Capital Park

CAPITAL PARK -  the #1 ranked terrain park in the Midwest for three straight seasons!

The Legendary Capital Park is our longest park and is full of medium sized features for the advanced skier/rider.  Jumps range from 15 - 30' and rails also are usually 10' or longer.  Capital Park is meticulously groomed daily and maintained by 12 park rangers throughout the day.  In the beginning of the season Capital Park may be split into an Upper and Lower section while we build up the park to our (and your) specifications.

CAPITAL PARK CURRENTLY HAS THE FOLLOWING 18 FEATURES:

THE JUMPLINE PARK - our largest jumps will also have some large rails this season on Sugarbush.

Finally our Jumpline Park will have some new features this year as we'll continue to host our largest jumps ranging from 30 - 50' in length but we'll also add some longer rails at the top and the bottom of the park to make this area more like a complete park.  Our largest park, this one is only for experts and all skiers/riders in tackling the Jumpline should wear a helmet.  Look for the Jumpline to host the annual Super Slopestyle in late February.

During the season check back to our snow report and this page particularly for updates, photos, and maps of all our parks.  It will give you a good idea on what to expect before you take the trip out to Mad River and your home to the #1 Parks in the Midwest.

Features may be closed at anytime due to weather or snow conditions.

Our Sister Resorts are home to some of the best Terrain Parks in the USA.

You may or may not know but Capital Park is a little sister to Big Boulder Park in the Poconos of Pennsylvania and Carinthia at Mount Snow (home of 100 acres of terrain and the largest park system East of the Rockies). Our parks at Mad River are maintained by our staff but Peak Resorts has instituded "The Program" in which other operators from Big Boulder and Carinthia come out to assist in initial builds and major events like the Louie Vito Rail Jam.  Heading up "The Program" is Elia Hamilton - director of Freestyle Terrain for Peak Resorts.  Elia hails from Vermont and is widely considered one of the experts in Freestyle Terrain.  Elia has worked on the ESPN XGames and the Winter Dew Tour, while also being a lead instructor for Ski Area Managment's Cutter's Camp at both Mount Snow and Mount Hood, Oregon.
