Celebrate our 50th season at Winterfest Weekend! For anyone who has lived under a rock, this is our long running Mid-Winter Celebration, featuring live entertainment, ski races, a cash purse BIG AIR event, and to top it off an extensive Firework Display.

To celebrate the event, we have stacks of prizes to give-away all weekend long. Bud Light has provided a wide variety of branded prizes for this years event, including snowboards, twin-tip skis, outerwear, goggles, and hundreds of t-shirts, hats and other goodies. One lucky winner will walk away with the grand prize, a trip for two to Mount Snow.

The events kickoff at 10am with several ski and snowboard races hosted by the MRM Race Team as the first leg of the two day Mad River Open. Don't worry about space, we have 144 acres of skiable terrain! The race event will take place on the Chute and only occupy a small portion of the Slopes. The Chute will reopen following the races for your skiing pleasure.

At 2pm, The Columbus Zoo and Aquarium will be bringing winter themed animals to making an appearance for the days young guests. Parents be sure to make time for your family to check out our animal friends. The animals will be in the base area from 2pm-3:30pm.

Live entertainment will begin at 5pm followed by our signature Big Air event of the season at 8pm. The top rider in both the Ski and Snowboard category will walk away with $200 and the top three in each category will pick up some great prizes. The Skratchmatik Crew will be providing the beats for the Big Air from the Big Air judges station. Registration is $10

This will be the best Midnight Madness break of the season. The Mad River Mountain Learning Center Staff will light up the slopes with a torchlight parade. At 10pm Lantis Fireworks will light up the Sky over Valley Hi with a Firework display designed to be visible from all points across the Resort. Immediately following the Fireworks, head towards the Loft, at 10:30pm we will be giving away a trip for two to Southern Vermont's destination Resort, Mount Snow along with skis, boards and outerwear. Registration for the trip is free and will be held via our 50 Days of Giveaways sign ups throughout the day. 

Big Air and Mad River Open participants will be automatically entered.
